There is still time to Do More Good in 2024!

This year continues to be an active year of Grantmaking! Because of donors like you we have given our shared community gifts of music, low cost car repairs, accessible transportation, home deliveries of food and meds, kids philanthropy, sheltering assistance and even community yoga. We hope you'll consider making a year-end donation to the Golden Valley Community Foundation again this year. These are donations that stay in and serve our community.

We are thrilled to let you know we will double* your gift again for 2024!

Since December 2023, GVCF awarded more than $24,000 in grants including to music groups performing community concerts and food shelves, transportation for adults with development disabilities and an organization that provides low cost car repair services and support for people who live in our community.

For 3 years we've provided grants that support local elementary school kids who, with their grants, paid it forward! They bought supplies, then assembled, crafted and distributed wellness kits for our neighbors in need. We also funded free wellness-focused yoga for our neighbors during the summers at our partner nonprofit - Market in the Valley.

GVCF does programming too!

Because of your donations and sponsorships we expanded our own Foundation initiatives including Global Golden Valley and our Sustainability Day program. Additionally, our sponsorship programs supported community volunteers who brought family friendly programming and festivals to our community. We sponsored Girls Softball and Boys Little League summer ball teams.

We are as committed to maintaining historic traditions as we are to creating new traditions and pop-up community projects and ideas. We'd love to talk with you about opportunities you see for our shared community.

As a community foundation we serve 5 broad areas with grant awards. Those areas include 1. Arts, through our GVArtsTM initiative fund, 2. Sustainability programming via our Sustainability Initiative fund, 3. Wellness in the broadest sense via our Social Advocacy Fund, 4. Education and 5. Community Support at large via our Community Foundation Fund.

Broad grant-making is a key benefit of your community foundation. We have attracted more than $750,000 for community investment in Golden Valley and our west side neighbors since 2011. No one else does this for our area.

We appreciate you and your past support. We hope you'll continue to support our local community work. If your gift is already on the way, Thank You! If you have not yet donated please know there is still time to Do More Good in 2024.

Please give as you are able in an amount meaningful for you.

We All Do Better, When We ALL Do Better.

You can donate today on-line or send a check by mail.

Next Year! We are pleased to announce that in January, we will be launching our foundation newsletter via email. This initiative will enable us to communicate with you in a cost effective way. We'll share more about our grant-making activities, community initiatives, personal opportunities and the tangible impact of your donations on our community. It will also give us a chance to hear from you about ideas.

If your donation is here or in the mail THANK YOU! It will be matched! If you haven't already donated, AND you are intending to help us DO MORE GOOD in the community, we want you to know that this year, the GVCF Board will match the first donations up to $5,000. This will DOUBLE gifts dated on or before December 31, 2024.
