Review Team

The Selection Team is an important part of the Artist Showcase process. Each year 100+ artists' work is submitted and it is the job of the Selection Team to help us evaluate the submissions.

Specifics of the evaluation are provided at the time of review, but generally speaking, the review does not require any specialized artistic background or knowledge.

While Artist Showcase is not considered a juried exhibition, work still must be reviewed prior to selection.

If you are an artist submitting work to the Artist Showcase, you are not eligible to be on the Selection Team.

If you would like to be part of the Artist Showcase Selection Team, please complete the form below.

Artist Showcase Guidelines

All the Details...

Introduction:

The Artist Showcase is a community art exhibit celebrating artists in St. Louis Park and Golden Valley, and building connections between local artists and our communities.  We encourage all artists and creatives who live, work or study in St. Louis Park or Golden Valley to submit work for the Artist Showcase.

Online submission is open October 1-30, 2020.  Artists are notified of selection in November. Any one person may submit up to three works of 2D, 3D, and/or recorded work (video). Our goal is to display work from as many artists as possible, but display space is limited and we may not be able to accommodate all submissions.  The Artist Showcase displays a wide variety of work in many sizes, so we encourage artists submitting multiple works to include a variety of sizes, if available.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Work must be submitted by an individual artist (one person) who lives, works, or studies in St. Louis Park or Golden Valley, MN.

  • Works must be appropriate for public display for all ages in our cities' spaces. Works must not be offensive or condescending towards any race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation, and must not be used to promote or oppose political views.

  • Works must be original and may not have been displayed in St. Louis Park or Golden Valley city displays or exhibits previously.

  • Work delivered for display in the Artist Showcase must be the work pictured and submitted in this submission—no unapproved changes may be made.

  • 2D artwork must be mounted and ready-to-hang.

  • 3D artwork must be freestanding,  or fit in the enclosed pedestal/vitrine size 23" x 24" x 24".

  • Recorded work (video) can include short films, music performances, poetry reading, dance performances, or other work recorded on video.

Submission Format:

Please include a URL (web address, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc) to a picture of your work. For digital/film submissions, please include a URL to a video of your complete work (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.).
